| Für wen? | Everyone, whatever their age, who enjoys reading in English. | |||||||||||
| Wer hat angefangen? | A joint project by 3 associations - Babel, Open House and Alliance Oxford-Grenoble to provide a centre for the English reading public of the Grenoble area. Association Babel which promotes foreign language learning agreed to house the library in their premises. | |||||||||||
| Wann hat es angefangen? | The Library has been open for 10 years. | |||||||||||
| Wie funktioniert es? |
The Library houses approximately 5000 books for all ages and for all tastes. It is staffed by a small team of dedicated volunteers.
* Two book groups - a young adult group and a general literary discussion group - are held at regular intervals. * Book sales are organised at least once a year. * Any donations of books in English are welcome. * Long term loans of books to interested organisations are possible. * Titles not on the shelves can be requested and sourced. | |||||||||||
| Wie funktioniert die Gruppe weitermachen? | The Library is funded by membership fees, support from the founding associations and from the yearly book sales. The majority of the books are received through generous donations. | |||||||||||
| Warum ist es gut für Familien? | The Library has a very varied collection of books for all ages and tastes. The children's section is particularly well stocked and organised by an ex-children's librarian with many years experience of providing books for young people. All families are very welcome - there are no fines for late books ! | |||||||||||
