| When did it start? |
CEC was established in March, 1997. CEC was created to provide information and support to new parents in English. CEC's philosophy is based on the concepts of family-centered maternity care and freedom of choice based on knowledge of alternatives in childbirth.

| How does it work? |
CEC is devoted to preparing women and their partners for the journey through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. We are based in a natural childbirth perspective. Our aim is to inform couples of the choices they have so they themselves can make decisions appropriate to their own lifestyle and philosophy.
Classes include: * Choosing a caregiver * Birthing your baby * Birth refresher * Baby basics for new parents Classes focus on up-to-date, unbiased, evidence-based information.
