| When did it start? |
Delft MaMa was created at the end of 2005 by Lucie Cunningham. She realized that she had had a better experience living her pregnancy and kraamperiode (first few days after birth) than most of her foreign friends in Delft. She also listened to the stories of international women who had a very positive experience and analyzed the reasons why. She then decided to help other Delft international mothers-to-be and new mothers obtain the same level of support she received as early in their pregnancies as possible.

| How did you start? |
Voordelft is a non-profit organization which supports and guides people who have innovative and exciting ideas for social and cultural initiatives in Delft. Voordelft has been advising and supporting Delft MaMa financially since April 2006. Visit them at (http://www.voordelft.nl ).

| How does it work? |
Delft MaMa reaches out to the local international community and offers a helping hand to parents. It promotes the well-being and integration of international mothers-to-be and mothers of young children (0 to 4 year-olds) in and around Delft.

| How do you keep the group/program going? |
Delft MaMa has a mentoring program that enables experienced international mums to provide support and companionship to new mums to be. See 'Mentoring' page on the website for more information.

| How does it benefit families? |
Delft Mama helps bring together women who living in foreign country often lack that network of family members and friends that
make the transition to mother all that much easier. We take care of Delft international mothers-to-be and new mothers so that they can take better care of their children and themselves. | |||||||||||
