アデレード日本語補習授業校は6才から15才までの義務教育年令の日本人の子弟が、日本語（国語）の能力の維持発展のため、文 部科学省の学習指導要領に準じて補習することを目的に、そして日本における学校の標準を維持し、日本に帰った時に日本の教育に抵抗なくアジャストすることが出来るようにとの目的で設立されました。
しかし現在は短期間滞在のビジネスマンの子弟のみならず、永住している日本人家族および国際結婚の過程の子弟の子弟の高いレベルの日本語能力の達成にも寄与しています。 今日この学校のもっとも意義ある機能の一つは、小さい子供のうちから日本と同じ様な学習環境の中で高いレベルの日本語の達成を求めることが出来 るのと同時に、学校がオーストラリアにあるということによって、ますますグローバル化している社会において人々の間の媒介者としての役割をつとめる真の意味でのバイリンガル・コスモポリタンを育成することが出来ると思います。 財政的には日本政府だけでなく、このようなエセニック・スクールの重要性を強く認識しているオーストラリア政府からも補助がでています。 Adelaide Japanese Community School has been supported financially by the Japanese government, and the importance of this 'ethnic school' has been recognized as being important by the Australian Government. | ||||||||

現在アデレード日本語補習授業校では、異なる目的とニーズに対応するために、2種類のコースを提供しています。また、共通の幼稚部を併設しています。
幼稚部（4歳・5歳児）」- 日本語を使った楽しい学習を行います。歌、ゲーム、工作、季節の行事などを通して日本語および日本文化に慣れ親しんでいきます。 文科省コース（小1～中3）- 従来から存在するコースです。主に一時滞在者の子弟を対象に、文科省の学習指導要領に沿って、認定教科書を比較的早いペースで網羅します。 アデレードコース（小3～6年を対象に試験導入中）」- 国際結婚・現地永住者が増加している背景を考慮して試験的に導入しているコースです。母国語である日本語を、無理のないペースで継承語として学習します。文科省コースと同様に日本の教科書を利用します。 授業料 ー お子様1人あたりの授業料は1学期A$150 (10回分)です。小切手あるいは電子振込みで頂いております（現金は受け付けていません）。 入学案内の詳細についてはウェブサイトを参照してください。 Adelaide Japanese Community School has established different courses for different purposes and needs Kindergarten (4 ~ 5 years old) - The target is to make learning fun through Japanese. We use seasonally themed songs, games and crafts to familiarize the children with Japanese and Japanese culture. 'Return to Japanese School' course （Elementary School 1st grade ~ Junior high school 3rd grade）- This our traditional course that is for the children of temporary residents that will be returning to Japan. This course follows national curriculum with Ministry of Education approved textbooks at a relatively fast pace. Adelaide Course (Currently accepting applications for Elementary school 3rd~6th grade) - This is a pilot course that has been established for the children of Japanese families that live permanently in Australia and international marriages. The course uses the same textbooks, but does so a pace that is more comfortable for the children. Tuition - The tuition per child per semester is AUS$ 150 a term (10 times).
