I have lived in Japan for three years and taught
preschool classes and baby classes at an Eikaiwa. I am from Canada and have my DSW and ECE degree. I also have a TEFL certificate and training in Japan. I started Brainy Babies. It's an English mom and baby playgroup. I am willing to teach toddlers and elementary school children as well. Please contact me for details. | ||||||||

We sing, dance, play games, do sensory activities, arts and crafts, read books, free play etc..
MOM & BABY PLAYGROUP: An English mom and baby group is one hour, once a week. The lessons are always different because of our monthly themes we follow such as.. food, animals, winter etc... You will learn a game every week to play with your baby at home to help build cognitive skills, motor skills, language skills ect... You have the option of ordering the monthly book from me and you can bring it to class and read along with me, ask me about words or sentences in the book and read it at home with your baby. You should be able to read and understand the book by the end of the month I hope. If not, I can help you! Learn monthly vocabulary and sentences to use at home with your baby. *This playgroup isn't just for babies. I want the moms to work hard to learn the English as well and USE IT at home with their child. Having English only in the classroom isn't enough! Good luck moms! All playgroup classes are taught by me. BABY SIGN CLASSES: I am a certified "My Smart Hands" teacher. This is a very popular baby sign school from Canada. Please search the internet and see! We are lucky to now have MSH in Japan! There are only two teachers in Japan. Me in Gifu, and one in Okinawa! A Level one class is 45mins once a week for 8weeks. You get a textbook and CD with the class. You will learn over 100 signs and how to use them at home with your baby. We learn to sign along to songs and books as well as games to play to teach your baby sign! It's lots of fun and after you complete level one I recommend you join our SIGN & SING class! SIGN & SING: One hour, once a week. For moms who took level one sign or already know sign from somewhere else. It's like the playgroup but we are using sign the whole class. It's good for reviewing and adding to your signing vocabulary. Lot's of singing and playing! | ||||||||
