| Quem criou o grupo ou o programa? | GetHiroshima (Joy and Paul Walsh) http://www.gethiroshima.com | |||||||||||||||
| Quando foi criado? | Started doing small get-togethers when we started the website (gethiroshima.com) in 2000, but once we had kids of our own, we started publicly putting up information around 2007 on the parenting blog (http://hiroshimaoyako.blogspot.com) about friendship and community building activities and playgroup dates. | |||||||||||||||
| Como começou? (por exemplo: que desafios tiveram? Quem os ajudou?) | As with GetHiroshima, we wanted to create opportunities for people from different circles to get together, make friends, exchange information and help make a positive international community in Hiroshima. | |||||||||||||||
| Como funciona? (por exemplo: O que vocês fazem? Quem o faz?) |
Usually on non-event days, we meet in the park, watch the kids play while we chat and make friends, eat lunch together sometimes or at least share snacks.
On event days, we have a few more organized games and treats and often try to raise money for UNICEF or another worthy charity while having fun. We are not an exclusive group, everyone is welcome!
| Como vocês mantem o grupo/programa funcionando? |
As long as people keep coming and enjoying the play-dates and events, we will keep doing it.
Keep up to date with the latest events and details of upcoming play-dates on the hiroshimaoyako blog. You can also join the "Hiroshima International Playdate Group" on Facebook.
| De que forma beneficiam às famílias bilíngues ou internacionais? | Communication and being social is a key part to any successful and positive community I think. | |||||||||||||||
| Que conselhos dariam para outros que querem estabelecer um grupo similar? |
Just choose a place or a park that is central to where you live, advertise and tell friends and interesting parents you meet about it and it comes together after a while.
