É destinado para quem? Membership of CEL is open to all those who live in Stuttgart and its environs. Our membership is truly international, ex-pats from all over the world, bilingual families, Germans returning from abroad and those just wanting to give their children a head start in English.
Como funciona? (por exemplo: O que vocês fazem? Quem o faz?) Membership costs 50 Euro per year and allows families and individuals to borrow up to 15 books for four weeks at a time and to take part in workshops, readings and activities run by native English speakers.

There is lots to choose from at CEL, with over 7000 books from across the English-speaking world: board books for babies, picture books for pre-schoolers, “big books” for teachers to use with classes, story books both to read to your children and for them to read to themselves, non-fiction books for school projects, and for pleasure, and audio books for long car journeys.

Our books are divided into the following categories:
BB Board Books

CEL offers lots of English-language activities for children to use and practice their English. Regular events are listed on the website.

They include:
*Songs and stories for 0-4 year olds
*Letter Fun for 4+ year olds
*Rhyme Time
*Friday Fun for 3-6 year olds
*Workshops for over 6s/over 10s

All activities are led by native English speakers and presented at native speaker level. They require children to be comfortable in an English language environment and able understand some English.
Of course we are always willing to help them if they aren't sure about the English words for certain things!

Como vocês mantem o grupo/programa funcionando? The library is funded purely by membership fees and donations.

The Children's English Library e.V. (CEL) is run by a large number of capable and enthusiastic volunteers. New volunteers are always welcome.

Operations are directed by the Board of the CEL which is made up of members elected to the board for a term of three years by the membership at the Annual General Meeting.
